Friendly Fires Community Events Update!

It’s that time of year again when outdoor community events are on almost every weekend! We’ve been busy participating in as many events as we can, all while running our popular BBQ classes, and this post is a quick wrap-up to let you know what we’ve been up to!

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes – Cobourg

On Saturday, June 9th we again hosted the finish-line celebrations for the fantastic Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event put on by the fine folks at Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre.

Friendly Fires provided the BBQs and volunteers from Cornerstone and Rogers did the cooking and supplied the food. We had hundreds of people in our parking lot enjoying the fine food, great atmosphere, and fantastic music supplied by King Street Brass.

The event was a great success and we’re happy to report that over $38,000 was raised for Cornerstone!

Thank you to King Street Jazz for the great music, and for the Friendly Fires shout out!

Mississippi Mills Youth Centre Fundraiser

On Saturday, June 16 our very own Paul McIntosh from our Carleton Place location brought a BBQ and did some cooking for the Mississippi Mills Youth Centre fundraiser.

Highland Games – Cobourg

This past weekend also saw the Highland Games taking place in Cobourg right across the road from our King Street location – we provided parking with all proceeds going to Cornerstone and are happy to say we raised over $100 for them!
