What is a Nova Unit?

Enviro considered Nova units to be any fireplace, stove, or insert that is not IPI.  The IPI (Intermittent Pilot Ignition) system does not use a pilot light and instead relies on an electronic ignition switch to light the pilot after flipping on the wall switch or using the remote.  The best way to tell is from the model number of your fireplace.  If the model contains an “I” (ie. E33I); it means the unit is IPI and not a Nova Unit.  If you’re model number does not contain an “I” than it is a Nova unit.
