Hearthstone Part Description: This is a genuine replacement Hearthstone baffle that is found in Hearthstone Equinox (8000 model) wood stove. A baffle redirects hot gases and smoke, forcing them to travel a longer path within the firebox before exiting through the flue. This process increases the amount of heat that radiates into your room by prolonging the retention time of the hot gases and promotes secondary combustion, where unburned gases ignite and produce more heat. A baffle also protects the stove’s main structure from intense heat and prevents excessive creosote buildup in the chimney by ensuring more smoke is burned.
