This is a Kingsman Marquis piezo fireplace spark igniter assembly for many Kingsman Marquis fireplaces that burn natural gas and propane fuel.  This is the push button piezo igniter used on most standing pilot models.  This piezo ignitor creates a spark for the pilot light to catch.  These fireplace igniters do go after a period of time and need to be replaced:
