You May Want To Consider: Often times customer will purchase the Air Tube Retainers which are used to hold the air tubes in place. You may be able to re use the current ones, but sometimes they are too worn and need replacing as well.
Purpose: Secondary air tubes in wood burning appliances are designed to add preheated air to the top of the firebox. The preheated air mixes with wood gases to create a clean burn ensuring optimal efficiency from your stove. If they are damaged, cracked or deteriorating in any way, they should be replaced.
Installation tips: Place a screwdriver (any style except flat head) into one of the air holes and tap it with a hammer/mallet to the left until the right end of the tube is freed. To install a secondary air tube, reverse the above instructions.
IMPORTANT: All secondary air tubes must be in place for proper operation.
