Description: The Regency Catalyst allows smoke to burn inside the firebox chamber ensuring a longer and cleaner burn.  Unfortunately, catalysts wear out over time and need to be replaced.

Catalytic Combustor functionality

A catalytic combustor is a device used in wood-burning fireplaces and stoves to improve the efficiency of combustion and reduce the amount of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere.

The combustor is made of a ceramic or metal honeycomb-like structure coated with a catalyst, usually made of precious metals such as platinum, palladium, or rhodium. When the smoke from the fire passes through the combustor, the catalyst helps to break down the unburned gases and particles, allowing them to burn more completely.
