Sometimes fireplaces get so hot that they can melt (or affect) the receiver portion of a thermostat remote control (or other electronics). The Friendly Fires remote control receiver heat shield helps block some of the heat from a gas or propane fireplace from melting the receiver (or other electronic component).
The RS-1 Black Receiver Cover provides heat protection for any fireplace receiver, and improves radio frequency communication. The cover is intended to be used inside your fireplace and is made from copolymer, a high temperature material graded for temperatures up to 230°F.

This receiver heat shield fits most models of Skytech remote receivers.
The shield may fit other brands of receivers that are 3″ x 2.5″ x 1.75″ or smaller. It DOES NOT fit the W660-0121 Napoleon Receiver
