This is an official RSF and RSF Energy Replacement part. This replacement gasket ships new from RSF  in original RSF packaging.

RSF Number: FR-98.02.02.L

Part Description: This part exists in the Topaz, Pearl & Focus 250. It is the gasket between the top brick and the firebox.

Applicable Models:

• RSF Topaz Wood Fireplace
• RSF Pearl Wood Fireplace
• RSF Focus 250

Check the part number, it may work in other RSF wood burning fireplaces as well.

Purpose: It creates a seal between the arch firebrick and the top of the firebox.

Installation Tip: You may want to use an ash vacuum to clean out the ashes when replacing the front arch firebrick.  Consider using an ash vacuum instead of a household vacuum as these have better filters and will not catch on fire should an ember be cleaned up accidentally.  The replacement part is highlighted in yellow in product image.  There is a small metal groove behind the top brick that is specifically designed for that gasket.

Other Information:  The gasket is not secured to the brick in any way, and it sits in a metal channel on the appliance.  If you notice that suddenly you have a dirty glass or a difficult and overly-slow fire, then it is possible that this gasket should be changed. Without the gasket, the primary air will bypass the air wash system and rush into the firebox and directly up the chimney. Hence the dirty glass and insufficient air.
