This is a genuine True North Hopper Lid Switch that is compatible with the True North 40 Pellet Stove.  This True North Hopper Lid Switch is a new True North OEM part in original packaging.

Part Description:  In the event the hopper lid is left open while the stove is in operation, the hopper lid switch will prevent the top auger from turning. This is to prevent byproducts of combustion from entering the home through the open hopper lid and also to simply prevent operation with the hopper lid open (safety precaution). If the switch is not working, it will result in a top auger that will not turn and therefore a stove that will not burn.
