Part Description: This is a genuine replacement damper that works with several Vermont Castings Dutchwest and Sequoia wood stoves. A wood stove damper is a metal plate that controls the airflow in the flue pipe to regulate the fire and manage heat loss. When fully open, it allows maximum airflow for a strong fire and smoke to vent, while partially or fully closed, it restricts air to slow the burn rate, conserve fuel, and prevent heated air from escaping up the chimney when the stove isn’t in use.
