Alex was born in Ottawa and considered it home until 2002 when he moved to Peterborough. In Ottawa, Alex earned a Honours Bachelor of Commerce, a Masters in Business Administration and spent the first 15 years of his career working for large companies. Alex has spent numerous hours volunteering for various charitable organizations and enjoys actively giving back to the community. He recently earned his WETT (wood energy technology transfer) designation and is active in attending educational sessions in the hearth industry. Besides researching all products sold at Friendly Fires, Alex tries to use as many Friendly Fires products as possible in his home to ensure quality before making them available for sale in our stores. On weekends, there is nothing that he loves more than BBQing (smoking) on his Charcoal Primo XL for his wife (Lorraine) and his two incredible children (Noah & Sequoia).
