The best way to clean your chimney is with the a chimney rod (brush & flexible rods). The brush is inserted top down through the chimney or bottom up through the fireplace damper or cleanout door.  Imperial fiberglass chimney cleaning rods come with 1/4” (3/8″) male threads on one end and female threads on the other.  These rods are very popular with the do-it-yourself homeowner because of their high degree of flexibility.

PURPOSE: Chimney rods attached to a brush are used to sweep chimneys to ensure safe and efficient use of wood burning appliances.

• These chimney rods are compatible to those sold by the Big Box Stores
• Friendly Fires stocks chimney rod adapterrs that will take this chimney rod to adapt to some of the other types of chimney brushes on the market (such as 7/8″).
• If you have a pellet stove or insert, we would recommend specifically designed pellet stove cleaning brushes
• If you have a stainless steel flex liner (wood inserts, oil furnaces, etc…) – we would recommend a more flexible chimney brush rod than this one.
